10 Questions with Johnny Messner

Here’s the name : Johnny Messner. Remember it. Starring in no less than four major movies this year – including “Anacondas” and “Hostage”
with Bruce Willis – he’s already being labelled one of the gifted, most talented young actors of his generation. We quizzed Messner on those
new films he has coming out, as well as finding on what the heck it is about Bruce Willis movies – he’s starred in three with him now – that makes
it incessantly hard for him to say ‘No’.
You seem to be following Bruce Willis about. Grand plan there?
Nothing is better than working with friends.
How did you enjoy, The Whole Ten Yards?
A lot more laughs (than doing the serious Tears of the Sun), plus I learned a lot about comedy!
What category is “Hostage” slotting into?
Expect to be shocked!
I have to ask, Guiding Light. When and who were you on it? Did doing a soap help to get roles later on?

Tarzan – the recent WB TV series - had quite good reviews. Were you disappointed it didn’t last?
No! It was my least favourite job
So do you prefer doing films in contrast to television roles?
Film, Absolutely!
When and how did you fall into acting?

There are so many good roles out there, but just as many hungry actors. How difficult is it to nab plum parts in Hollywood? Do you
face much competition?
You have a better chance on winning the lottery
Working with say, Willis or even Kevin Pollak, have you learnt anything from them? Do they offer advice, as veterans of the industry?
I learn everything from watching other actors
